Don't over-crowd flags
As soon as the match starts you'll notice a majority of your team rushing to the nearest Flag, generally Flag A or C. Instead of joining them and being the fifth man working on a one-man job, you can either guard the area or attempt to capture Flag B, which is typically placed in a central, open and highly vulnerable area.
Ensure the middle -- Flag B -- is in possession by your team
Flags are placed across the map generally going North to South in different variations. The general layout follows A-B-C, with Flag B almost always acting as the central choke-point of the map and battle. Capping this flag will give your team better penetration into one of the Flags on the outer parts of the map.

Capturing Flag B with one of Flag A or C will spawn trap your enemy.
Flag B's worth is really only dictated by your ability to capture one of Flag A or C. Owning just one of those along with the middle Flag will spawn trap your enemy next to the remaining Flag, giving your team a strong advantage on the map.
Thoroughly scan Flag B before attempting to capture it.
Flags A and C are generally a lot easier to capture due to their nestled placement in corners and dead ends. Flag B is always a sniper's paradise, thanks to its central and open placement. Using a scoped weapon will allow you to check out the area before rushing it and dying without having achieved anything.
Throw your K:D ration out the window
It's not that Domination isn't about kills -- it's still important to push your enemy deep into their spawn areas -- but your main objective should be to help your team, be it by capturing points, protecting points or calling in team-assisting pointstreak rewards. Your life is not the most important thing. The team's objective is. Play with that in mind and you'll enjoy the mode as it should be enjoyed.

Don't break spawn points
If you do manage to capture both Flag B and one of A and C, don't push the enemy too far into their spawn trap, otherwise they'll begin to spawn in other safer locations, perhaps closer, or directly on, one of your team's captured flags.
Don't attempt to capture heavily guarded areas
The general rule is to "flash, flash, semtax" before rushing an area to cap. Depending on the map and Flag placement, you should always double and triple check to ensure areas aren't immediately protected by enemies. This also depends on the Flag: the centralized B typically has snipers watching over it, while Flags A and C can be infiltrated and capped a lot easier.
Protect capping teammates
There's no need to rush to a Flag while two of your teammates attempt to capture it. You probably won't make it in time to get the extra points. What you should be doing is taking an alternate route towards the flag to ensure your mates are covered to complete the capture.
Use low pointstreak awards
Whether you use the Support or Assault Strike Packages, try and keep your pointstreak awards on the down low. Using Hardline is a handy perk, allowing you to unlock a UAV and Counter-UAV after two and three-point streaks. In one match of Domination, that works out to be a lot of UAV calls for your team.
