Hey guys, Thought it'd be interesting to share what made you join the MMGN / MySites community. I'll start with mine.

Back in August of 2009, I was browsing the internet for accessories and games for my 360. During my google adventures i didn't realize, But i got linked to a website called My360.com.au - At first i didn't think much of it, But i checked the accessories page and then went on my way. A while later (few months?) i randomly thought "Hey, i wonder what else was on that website?"
I couldn't think of the name so i tried a few different google searches and finally came across it. Now upon browsing into various threads and having a quick look see, I really enjoyed the vibes and type of community that i saw. There was something about it that just grabbed my attention. So then i made an account... In which i had no idea what to use for a username (this is the first and only gaming website i've ever joined or really looked at) so i decided to use the song i was listening to as a username (Cypress Hill FTW!) [Derp]

TL;DR? - Ignore my story and share why you joined the community :)

While patiently waiting for the Wii to be released I got pretty obsessed with it and wanted to know everything about and what was coming out for the system. I Googled "Wii accessories" and ended up in the MyWii.com.au Wii accessory section. I lurked around for a few months and then decided to sign up because I wanted to share an image of my gaming collection which I couldn't do without an account. lol I remember little Kolpol9 showing me the ins and outs and telling me the importance of having wicked amounts of kudos lol.

Mealtime

Infamous was due out and I was hanging for it to break its street date, I was on the net all day looking for info and it was here that I found out it had broken. It was a wet day and it was a bit of a drive to where I had it pre ordered and they were shutting in 30 minutes. I rang them and confirmed it was out and they said I was next on the list to call. Well thanks to MMGN I was happily playing infamous that night!

Some good stories shared! I joined around September last year after lurking on the forums and reading the news and articles on here for so long. I think I finally pushed myself to join because a user wrote a comment that I desperately wanted to argue with (he's a regular user too, can't remember his name).

Then whaddya know; I saw the writer job application a few months back, applied and got it, and found such an awesome community as I've spent more time here. So I'm here for the long-haul now. :P

I actually discovered the MySites back when I was googling Wii accessories as well. I believe I came back and forth visiting the site a few times before I eventually signed up.
I can't remember the exact reason why I signed up. I think I ended up browsing through the forums a bit and thought heck I'll just register.

Haha yeah got him on Facebook as well, from kudos whore/pro-spammer to ripped little beast. Good on him.

Dude was pretty funny, I asked him what's the deal with kudos. He said "the more you have to more respect you'll get". Remember back then when it was a race to see who would hit 10 grand first :P

I used to read around and had an account but never really posted then one day all the, well they're the 360 mods now + a few others were talking about Fable II and Molyneux making promises and how well the AI is programmed I commented with "I hope he programmed my in game wife to make coffee properly"

And Rashy said I was funny, so I kept coming back.

3 of my mates had accounts so I signed up. Used it on the odd occasion. Then when killzone 2 came out, that's when I started to use this heaps.
Saw that it had up to date news and an active forum section. I had never been a member to a site like this so I was a bit hesitant. [MOG]
I used to bag out my friends for caring about how many kudos they had....but now I have more kudos than all of them combined. (evil)
muahahahahha....and yea that's my story.
