Welcome to the MyPS3 Folding@Home official team thread!

Our team number is 60766.

The Folding@Home application can be found under Network in the PS3 XMB. To join the MyPS3 team, open up Folding@Home, go to options, identity and then join an existing team.

Folding@Home is an application which you can download for your PS3 which helps medical research on protein folding for Stanford University. Further knowledge of how protein molecules behave will hopefully lead to cures for diseases such as Alzheimers, Hungtintons as well as some forms of cancer. Please contribute as much as you can, as every bit of help counts.

As i see it guys, Folding@Home can only HELP.. Even if we dont find a cure for cancer for a decade, many things learned from the project (already) are improving the likelihood for finding cures in many other diseases as well. We are only helping ourselves out here by running Folding@Home!

How can we get more recruits guys???
More participants = quicker results for Stanford = faster development of the project = (hopefully) more useful results of the project (advancements in methods etc. cure?)

callan, as an admin, anyway your able to talk to the webmaster about puttin an auto-msg for new members, introducing Folding@Home?

Guys, I think we should set one day per week when we should encourage all members to have F@H running. There's not much commitment involved, but folding for a whole day finishes about 3 WUs.

A weekday when people aren't usually playing PS3?

the PetaFlop has been cracked!!!
Thanks mainly to the efforts of PS3 participants, Folding@Home's distributed computing power has topped over the Petaflop mark!

well, the Folding Community Forum is a great source of info - forum.folding-community.org
But try reading the FAQs next to the download links on the official download site - folding.stanford.edu/

you can also drop me a line - lahmyaj@hotmail.com & if your on msn, i could guide u thru it... i'd use the 5.04 version for Windows users, as it stable & can be set as a 'service' (runs completely in the background) as the 5.03 version can make some peoples computers freeze now & again due to graphics issues with windows (not to do with the Folding@Home software)

We've now moved up again to 1103 Teraflops!!!
The last week has seen an extra 200 Teraflops being injected into this project, pretty much all of that coming from Playstation 3s!

Wont be far off & PS3s will be contributing 1 Petaflop just on their own! They're sittin at 842 Teraflops at the moment!

check it out! theres been a small surge of Playstation 3 folders of about 5000 extra 'active' folders, but with a big result... PS3 folders total power just cracked the Petaflop on their own!

come on guys, lets get more team news etc. goin on here
