Welcome to the MyPS3 Folding@Home official team thread!

Our team number is 60766.

The Folding@Home application can be found under Network in the PS3 XMB. To join the MyPS3 team, open up Folding@Home, go to options, identity and then join an existing team.

Folding@Home is an application which you can download for your PS3 which helps medical research on protein folding for Stanford University. Further knowledge of how protein molecules behave will hopefully lead to cures for diseases such as Alzheimers, Hungtintons as well as some forms of cancer. Please contribute as much as you can, as every bit of help counts.

Apart from contributing to a good cause another good thing about folding at home is that it gives you a chance charge your controller

just downloaded latest update! thanks Shadowblade mate

since these errors have plagued PS3s.. there has been a real drop in the OS Stats as far as total Teraflops for PS3s and therefore total project Teraflops.. but last couple of days is gone back above the Petaflop again! Hope to keep pushing so to make 1.5 or 2 Petaflops by June! (a prediction i made on the Folding Community Forums.. i hope not to be embarassed! haha)

So all you PS3 folders.. doing awesome! Keep up the good work.. spread the word.. get friends & family folding & if ya can get ya home computer onboard as well!

Im beating you cam! Just lol.. Got a few folds to go to pass bev who has not been active for 50 days.. Need a couple of thousand points to pass them so hopefully my next couple of days at work will see me catch up.

I am also the highest ranked with the least amount of folds if that makes sense ?

Heh... something funny I worked out by using the calculator and the OS Stats...

It currently takes 6.79 times more active CPUs (combined with all OS *BUT* PS3) to produce 3 times less TFLOPS than PS3 alone...

Think of all the power they're wasting... Moral of the story, go buy a PS3!

they MUST. winnie was on 410 when i was on 90......and im pretty consistent, but look at him now!

edit - he must have it going on like, 3 ps3's and 10 pc's

Ok Shadows i won't flame ya on this one coz ya probs don't know.. PS3s stand somewhere in the middle between PC's very flexible but less powerful processors & the GPU's (ATI graphics cards clients) very powerful but very specialised processors.
What i'm saying is.. they're all working on different sorts of Work Units & therefore different parts of research. If you took out all the computers and just ran PS3s then maybe only parts of protein research would be ever known.. so PCs etc. are a must in the project.. so i recommend if you got on.. install the program and if u like.. put it under tha same name you've got on your PS3.. or do sumthan like Shadowblade_PC ...?

Ok so i looked at both the top two's stats.. Winnie's & mateo's.. well i can tell ya that Winnie is definitely only running one PS3! (atleast in the last 50 days) haha but mateo seems to run atleast one PS3 and maybe a PC or two PS3s?
You wanna know how i can tell? Goto their individual stats and check up on 'Active processors (within 50 days)'.. easy!

Haha so in closing.. i encourage everyone to be 'sneaky' and fold on their Computers as well! haha

Mate, does your computer fold fast? What's your comp's specs?

My computer folds like crap! My PS3 pwns its ass, even though my comp is pretty powerful (Intel C2Q Q6600 overclocked to 3.1Ghz, 4GB DDR2 800 Mhz 4-4-4-12 RAM)
