I would never buy a big TV from a crappy, cheap brand. Maybe for like a 20-inch TV for my room, but I just wait and save up for the more expensive brands.

Kogan are not cheap and it has a Samsung panel
i always go samsung. they are best quality at best price. the plasmas are really cheap these days. i got the 51" 6 series from last years line-up and its perfect. the only thing is i wish i got a bigger one lol.

if u wanna watch 3D movies then bigger is better
Samsung are absolutely shit this year. They have brought out these new "cheaper models" that don't have smart tv or 3d and are heaps thicker and heavier, will next to no inputs. For those people who want to "Just watch tv". Ok sure great Idea, BUT, prices are terrible. $3000 - $4000 for Smart Tvs , $2000 - $2500 for non Smart TVs what a rip off. So disappointed. I recommend any of LAST years Samsung TVs, if you can snap one of these up you cant go wrong, and they would all be well under the $2000 even $1500 mark now for a 60".
My point being you could prob snap up a nice Samsung 2011 model 50 -55" for under $1000. Check out Warehouse Electrical salers.
I guess they're trying to ship the non-smart TVs. Eventually all televisions will be "Smart".
the 6 series plasma has all the smart tv features of last years models. the 8 series just has the motion control bs.

not sure about the led range but i did see that they have a basic tv, smart tv, then 3D tv in some sizes so a good range particularly for older people. LED is always much more expensive than plasma anyway.

i agree the lack of connections is annoying for some situations but all my stuff is hdmi now so its all good.

I'm pretty much of the same thought process. The problem I have with Kogan is that there's no way I can view the product in-store anywhere as its online only and all you have is reviews and fancy marketing words.

I've never found the Kogan brand that appealing to me at least as a primary TV and part of that is due to it being a blind buy. I may consider getting a smaller size Kogan model as a second TV, therefore, reducing the outlay. $700+ is a lot of money if it doesn't meet your needs but for the price you're looking at, Kogan fits the bill and if you can get last year's Samsung model for under $1000 that would be sweet especially if you have the advantage of seeing in the store. My brother has last years 60" 3d Samsung TV and its beautiful to look at.

Kogan does source Samsung displays but not all screens are made the same. I've read recent reviews and seen older models in person and I can tell you that Kogan picture quality is ok but not great like some of the more popular Samsung models so obviously the whole is something else than the sum of its parts.

If you're planning on using the 'smart' TV software features, PVR and 3D, I've found recent reviews aren't favourable. They point out that they're not the most intuitive and user friendly.

Don't get me wrong, Kogan TVs generally come with a host of features and many competing brands can't beat them for the price. There's also a return policy if you're dis-satisfied. Many people still enjoy their Kogan branded TV and if the pro's outweigh the cons (price, features, build quality), great stuff!

Another brand to check out is Hisense and they can be bought in-store and is worthy of consideration when its on sale as it comes with 3 years warranty out the box and they COME to you if you have a problem. Their larger size 3d and smart TVs are a lot more expensive but the picture quality looks pretty sweet. At least they back their TVs for 3 years which isn't something you see from many manufacturers.
I agree with punk about Kogan... But if it comes down to $ then they have pretty good bang for buck.
Dick Smith also has their own brand and some no name brands in store that you can see in person. But price wise it is hard to beat the online retailers, no retail store chains to finance they are generally pretty good value. Sonic sell online and are a Chinese brand and there are a host of new retailers of their own brands like Aussie Importing that are popping up.

Most of the cheaper brands do offer good bang for your buck...I agree there. But still, if you're forking over a few grand for a massive screen, 3D, Full HD, you may as well save a little more and at least get a brand renowned for such features.

A 60" 3D LED from Kogan doesn't seem like a good investment to me.
Any good 32" ones that anyone recommend I just need a good new TV for my room.
With the advancements in technology these days even crap brands look good @32", so anything would suit really.
How about 3D 32" inch?
my dad got a sony bravio 3d hd tv 46 inch for around $800 at dick smith .. nice too got all the internet stuff on it, not that he has internet..
Do these cheaper brands have good warranty as well?
I got a 50" NEC HD plasma the other day.... $50

score! I'd like something like that for a retro gaming room. Would be good for the later consoles like the DreamCast, GameCube and PS2.
Guessing this was second hand then?

Don't worry, you will make it up in the power bill
