Best PS3 exclusives to justify a purchase

Hey guys. I was wondering if some of you could give me perspective in regards to what is considered the best or most unique exclusive/first-party games on the PS3. I've been meaning to buy a PS3 for a while now, especially considering the future line-up with The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls. I've done my research but being a total Sony first-party n00b (I've played a few games like Uncharted and Twisted Metal but not a lot) I want to be able to find out about some gems to justify a full console purchase in the near future (Target's doing a $250 160GB PS3 soon).

So what exclusives are there? I know Demon Souls and Valkryia Chronicles are must-haves. I have no interest in PS3 shooters (I played Killzone 1 on PS2 and Killzone 2 for a bit and didn't like them, and Resistance is pretty mediocre) so I'm hoping for some other suggestions. Is Heavy Rain worth a purchase? I like the cinematic types of gaming experiences (Alan Wake has been a blast).

Okay I know you said you didn't like Resistance but have you tried out the third one? That is probably the best in the series. Best campaign out of all of them!

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys and girls. I've been doing a bit of reading on a few of the titles mentioned that aren't as well-known, like 3D Dot Heroes and Folklore and they sound good. I'm probably gonna check out Infamous, Uncharted and LBP 1 & 2. Big W's got a $250 PS3 160GB deal coming up at the end of June with a choice of game; Uncharted 2, LBP 2, and Motorstorm: Apocalpyse. Which one should I nab?

If you wanna go the whole year you'll be looking at $70

Probably better to try out three months first, but it's damn good value for what you get. If you've added them to your download list, and your sub expires the moment you re-sub you can play them again aswell.

Sounds awesome. I'm actually getting pumped now in my plan to finally buy a PS3. So many new exclusives to look forward too. Heavy Rain, Valkryia Chronicles and the Uncharted series are the first on my list.
