Hi guys. :D

Recently I've been downloading a lot of TV shows/anime onto my Macbook Pro, and that's been good and all, but I realised that I could put them onto my PS3 and watch them on the big screen. But I don't know exactly how to do that, so I have a few questions I'm hoping you guys can answer for me.

1. What formats does the PS3 accept? My files are either .avi or .mkv. Are they compatible?
2. If not, how do I make those files compatible?
3. Any other details I should know about storing video files on the PS3 to watch?

Also, if it doesn't work that way, is the PS3 able to stream videos from a computer and play it on the TV like that?

Sorry, don't know too much about my PS3(rarely use it). Thanks in advance!
