i have to agree, PS3's entire conference was basically look what we have next year

where as the Microsoft had that but they also focused on more things for this year, so it seems this year again goes to microsoft

When they start handing out awards to companies that's when there is a winner

But it would take something spectacular for another company to admit that they were outdone. it would take something even bigger than that for console owners to admit it. Why can't people be content with the fact all console got some big news and concentrate on the products instead of who "won" at a video games expo, it's like comparing coke to pepsi...

Uncharted 2 and GOW3 looked awesome! MAG looked crap though and FFXIV? Online? that will suck. The PSP redesign is a waste of time its damn ugly and no second thumbstick! can count me out. Then the part where i cringed Sony's motion controller i almost felt sorry for Sony that this is all they had compared to Microsofts impressive Project Natal. All in all was kinda poor show for Sony at least for 2009

It'll be around $400 AUS. Bad move by Sony. They are trying to GET customers, not drive them away.

Sony's motion controller looked stupid it just seemed so lame so... Nintendo. With FF14 thats nice japan liked FF11 i hated it i dont remember it doing well in the western world correct me if im wrong bring on FF13 i say!

hey mate hows ur day? well going by the ps3 games i own they cost the same online as they do in the store. socom confrontation is the same cost on the shelf as it is on the psn store. so id assume they'd do the same.

The difference of course being that you can't trade or sell them when you finish with them and you can't shop around to find them on sale or being cleared out etc. They'll be RRP and you'll be lucky to see them for less.

If Zen is correct in his assumption that they'll be sold at RRP Sony would be loving this as it means more money for them. No manufacturing (materials, labour etc)and shipping costs as well as cutting out the middle man (retailers and their cut of sales) will mean they make substantially more on each game sold.

I'm guessing that going this heavily into downloadable games means that they'll be tightening up their security in relation to being able to "game share" also.

believe it makes it better, as the UMD's security is a joke, and the file you download is only useable on your psp from what i have heard, so it limits it alot, until someone finds away around that

and the fact that the UMD is still going to be there means there probably not going to curb piracy that much, with all these great titles coming out it will probably increase piracy which is sad as many developers have already bailed on the PSP platform

I think your right Dingo, over time, there sooo worried about these consoles and portables getting chipped, and they KNOW theres no way around stopping the pirates. I predicted this ages ago, I even made a thread up about it.
