interesting question, both companies are doing pretty good at it

Rock Band 1 & 2 , Rock Band AC/DC, soon to be released Beatles & Lego Rock Band

then how much Rock Band DLC has there been in the last two years, heaps, I can tell you from personal experience as I have alot of it.

in that same time, theres been for PS3- GH3, Aerosmith, GH-WT, Metallica, Greatest Hits, soon GH5, Van Halen & Band Hero. Only GH3 had regular DLC & was released before RB1 (especially here in Oz).

DJ Hero doesnt count as its doesnt use guitar or drums.

If you buy alot of RB DLC its easily more expensive in the end than getting a disc with 80 songs on it. Granted you can choose your DLC & GH curent games don't allow discs to be exported but that is changing with GH5.

p.s RZ the atists are allowing the use of their songs, they are cashing out.

Band Hero , aint all the songs on this Top 40, Country, Teeny sorta stuff ?

I don't understand the intention behind Band Hero. Is Guitar Hero no longer going to continue the band experience? Is Guitar Hero going back to its guitar roots or something like GH3?

Characters have improved a heck of a lot. Not as blocky as before.
Seems like easier game play than the actual Guitar Hero series, though.

its still a band experience thats why there is the whole band bundle thing when available...its more of a "pop" version of the game for those whom dont like rock tracks...

I believe its called Band Hero as opposed to Guitar Hero because the bands & tracks featured are not bands that are heavily influenced by the guitar driven sound if that makes sense.

Im guessing Guitar Hero will now go back to its roots kinda like you say & will feature mainly rock/hard rock/metal music & Band Hero & future Band Hero releases will handle the rest.
