Batman: Arkham Asylum is an upcoming video game for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Windows, and is based on DC Comics' Batman. It is being developed by Rocksteady Studios and will be published by Eidos Interactive in conjunction with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics. It is based on the long-running comic book mythos, as opposed to most other Batman games which are adaptations of the character in other media besides the source material.

Release Date: August 2009

Batman: Arkham Asylum Joker DLC will be free

What's with the goofy grin? Did you dip into the jar of Smilex, or are you just giddy that playing as the Joker in Batman: Arkham Asylum won't cost you a dime.

Eidos confirms that the PS3-exclusive DLC will be free, allowing players to frolic about in the game's challenge maps as the Clown Prince of Crime when Batman: Arkham Asylum swoops onto store shelves this August.

So the joker must have an entirely different move set, because skinning batman as the joker would be weird.

Yeah theres some gameplay over at gametrailers.com, looks kinda repetetive so Im not surprised its free

This game could really sneak under the radar and wow everyone on release. I've never seen a more promising Batman title then Arkham Asylum right here. I love the moody style of it and so far the choice of villains have been awesome. Gameplay looks top notch too, similar to MGS in a way which is a win imo.

I'd love for them to announce Two face and Scarecrow. That would be the icing for me. But otherwise it's already day one buy for me.

Holy ****!!!! Looks as though Penguin, Two Face, Catwoman, Croc Killer, Freeze among plenty others are all confirmed for Arkham Asylum.

This magazine scan says it all really. Hope it's legit, looks confirmed to me.

Just make sure you get the GAME trade-in deal...it's sweet and you get more from their pre-order incentive than what EB offers!

Read carefully at the description (bottom left corner);
+ Bonus Challenge Map & Comic
That's the same pre-order incentive as JB, where EB only offers an 'Unlockable Armour'.

GAME's one game trade-in offer works out to be the cheapest. I got a $25 game (I imported + eligible for trade) + $69.95 = $94.95 all up!

It's most likely that it'll come as a dlc for the X360. (maybe it's due to the disc capacity that it couldn't fit in??)

Nope, The Joker is a PS3 exclusive and they want to keep it that way, it will be releasing as DLC on the PSN marked near release date

No new charectors for 360 version

I'm pretty sure it comes on the disc rather than a PSN dlc for the PS3 version (that's the 'disc' exclusivity). And it'll be available for X360 as well, just not off the disc.

My bad black, yeah it has been confirmed by Eidos as a PS3 exclusive dlc. No need to pre-order though, it should be available as a free download on PSN.

(I noticed and re-read my post near the top of this page! lol. silly me)

Isn't it interesting that PS3 seem to be first getting the 'baddies/villains' as dlc or on the disc as opposed to X360 getting the 'good guys' characters? (Soul Calibur IV - PS3 gets Vader on the roster and game cover, X360 got Yoda on roster and game cover...but were really timed exclusives)

And now PS3 gets the Joker!
