Just got announced today and from what i read sounds like it's going to be hard.

"Notably, the sources indicate that Dark Souls will be substantially more difficult than Demon's Souls" [MOG]

Dark Souls will be multi platform Xbox 360 people will also get the chance to be owned this time round.

I have the game and I'm easily frustrated, but I have never been in Dark Souls yet. It's really addictive and it forces you to learn how to deal with different enemies. I'm angry that I skipped Demon Souls, because this is probably one of the deepest and best executed games I have ever played.

Easy! Run up the stairs and take the dogs out first, then stand above the archway and use drop attack, rinse and repeat. :D

So I passed the Asylum, and now in the area called
Firelink Shrine I grabbed the Humanity, and tried out using it. I couldn't see any change in my character.
I quit out, and reloaded, and I still have that Humanity used. So the game auto-saves when quitting out.
Problem now is that I would prefer to go back to when I didn't use the Humanity, but I don't want to restart again. Has anyone used their Humanity early in the game? Is it preferably to keep it until later on? Just how does it supposed to work?

Using Humanity can return your character back to human and you can also use humanity to kindle bonfires and increase your limit of estus flask. So instead of just 5 estus flask you get 10 estus flask, but remember only that bonfire that you kindled will give you 10 estus flask when you respawn. Some people say that using humanity can also increase the chance of enemies dropping rare items. But be careful when you are in humanity form and if you are playing online, there is a chance that you will get invaded by other players. Also if you're in humanity form you can summon other players to play with you.

Or the simple answer, go to the bonfire, select reverse hollowing, now you're human.

And don't restart, there's humanity all over the place, it's not a one off item, the first one is right there so you can use it right away lol.

You can also purchase humanity in exchange for souls from the vendor behind the bars near the lower Undead Burg shortcut entrance If I remember correctly...

You can easily farm humanity too, so don't worry about losing them. Here is a really good place to farm humanity. There's probably better farming methods. But this is really easy and I got 7 humanity under 5 minutes. =D

After six attempts, I defeated the Taurus Demon fairly quickly. The firebomb / drop attack combo works wonders.
Shame this game has only the auto-save feature, as I wanted to do the battle again taping it. A manual save feature should have been included.

Tried luring the dragon on the bridge and it just doesn't take the bait! I go up the stairs, and run to the wall on the right-hand side. As soon as I move it only flames the bridge and I got BBQ'd a no. of times, and died twice (while attempting to recover my souls / humanity). I tried firing large arrows at it, and just causes 14 hit points / arrow.
Now I'm aiming to get one humanity point, and so far its taking way too long. I got to 13K points and no HP showed up. What gives??? Earlier goes I received humanity points with less than 10K points.

You can't kill the dragon that way, you need to shoot it from the tower behind..... but someone is up there. =)

Should I bother upgrading the drake sword or will a better weapon come?
I'm up to the fortress place and I've yet to find anything better, but I'm starting to feel that my weapon is becoming pretty useless against the enemies I'm fighting...

The Drake sword does not scale and will therefore be rendered useless as you progress, it's just a leg-up at the start to get you through some tough parts.

If you can get a Black Knight sword after killing one of them that scales rather well with strength and dex, it will become very powerful as you forge but that will eat up twinkling titanite which is quite rare.
Katanas are great to forge lightning into because many enemies have a weakness for that and it hits very fast.
The forging is what makes weapons godlike in this game, any basic weapon can be made lethal with the right forging, you just need the right smiths, embers and titanite.

Be wary of hoarding materials and not forging in hopes of creating a super weapon later, as you progress in the game boss souls will give you the chance to forge rare and powerful weapons, not forging early on will see you struggling to take out regular enemies as you enter new areas.

And everyone needs to forge a divine weapon if they want to access the catacombs, everything down there will resurrect itself immediately upon death unless it is killed with a divine weapon.

The forging system can be quite confusing, basically if a smith asks you for an ember it means he's supposed to have it so give it to him, then he can ascend your weapons giving them different properties, however you need to upgrade the weapon to +5 first in order to make it available to ascend and you need to be at the correct smith with the required ember in order to do it, i've got a chart around here somewhere i'll post it up.
