"Fire up Gran Turismo 5 and you’ll be prompted to download another new update, version 1.03, weighing in at 149MB in size. No information has yet been released about exactly what this update contains (though the official PlayStation blog hinted at incoming damage tweaks earlier today, thanks @hankolerd), and GT5’s online servers are currently offline until 11:00PM EST. I’ll update this post as soon as more solid information is made available.

UPDATE: The servers are back online and an in-game news notice has been posted, but it mentions nothing of exactly what changes v1.03 contains. However, as can be seen in the online “My Lounge” options for an online race, a new “Mechanical Damage” setting is available for the event with three settings, as described by the scrolling information bar on the bottom of the screen:

* “None” – No mechanical damage.
* “Light” – Mechanical parts can be damaged, but will “automatically be repaired after a short time has passed.”
* “Heavy” – Mechanical damage will be more severe, and can only be repaired by making a pit stop. Damaged parts will be indicated with on-screen icons.

I found that the rally challanges where the hardest.

And the stupid top gear ones. I did like the Nuremberg challenges though they where actually pretty fun.

I find the Rally's quite fun, a break from normal circuit-track racing. Gain good XP and money too. WRX's work best.

Dont you find waiting for other cars to take off irritating? I do..

But yeah its still "Fun"

BTW you can only win the prize money once I think, After you get gold you can play it another hundred times & not earn a single credit @_@

GT without credit.. Personally I'd rather play another racing game, Whats a GT game without earning credit for re-winning a race X_X

I used a Suzuki swift lol :D

i know, waiting is bloody irritating. sick of the bogans cheering you on at the start, you can hear the sound clip looping every 4 seconds! =_=

i loved the way you could redo any special event in GT4, win a bonus race car...again, then sell them for loads of credit.

Yeah true, I never played GT4 But I did play a lot of GT1 & 2, Winnings expensive cars only to sell was the only way to make quick cash, Im on 2.5m right now & its getting repetitive really bad, over 3 days now since i'v actually won a new trophy (Im winning races, Just ones i'v already placed 1st so im only unlocking more CR)

But if I get silver I can re do it? Over and over until I get gold?
Is that right? Surely you something from redoing races.

Only on Special Events, once you've achieved a gold trophy in a Special event, you can't gain any more xp or money.

A-Spec is different of course, you can re-do those as much as you want.

@smith & @chucky110: Thanks man-dudes, I wasn't sure what would happen as I was aiming for a certain Trophy and I didn't want to get anymore Credit given to me additionally. [I was targeting the 'Penniless Trophy' which I now have] :)
