just a question i was thinkin about gettin just the drums and the game... i have singstar mics that should go in but can i use a ps2 GH2 guitar then use the converter to PS3 contoller usb thing... would this work??

I dont believe that would work, you will need to get a original RB guitar or the Nyko Frontman which works on both RB & GH on the PS3.

Finally got Gamestop to ship RockBand to me. Hoping it comes early next week as i am so eager to rock on to Say it aint so by Weezer.

For all the people (RockGurl etc) that got theirs from Gamestop, Once your order said shipped, did you get a tracking number? Mine says it's been shipped but no tracking number has been noted.

When Gamestop shipped my special edition, the order status appeared as 'shipped' but I never received a confirmation email. After emailing them , they replied with a tracking number for UPS. So that's probably the best way to go about it, dropping them an email.

Thanks MelanEcho however unbelievably i have received my ROCKBAND!! woot.

Insanely fast. It was shipped from the USA Friday and received at 12pm today. How quick was that? Only for 59.98 US$ freight.

Gamestop is definitely the best vaule for importing this awesome game if you can get over the crap about your billing address being the same as the shipping address. Had to sweet talk my boss into using her work credit card to get it shipped to my office.

Can't wait to fire it up tonight and download some DLC! More Than a Feeling ftw!

Sorry, I have probably missed the posts in this thread, but how easy is it for us to purchase DLC for Rock Band? Can you just use a credit card with an AU PSN account, or do you need to use a US PSN account?

Also, the weird thing is the songs available to purchase have 'Purchased' next to them, even though I haven't...

Theres no DLC available through the AUS PSN, since RB is not here (yet).

SO -

1. you have to set up a 'dummy' sign in profile with an American address and valid zip code (google Texas, for example, to get the Zip code since I dont think they add state tax on purchases).

2. Test the account to make sure it works (log in using the dummy profile and it should take you to the US PSN) - you try it out by downloading the Glados & Johnathon song (its crap tho . . .) since its free so you dont need a CC.

3. If the Glados & Johnathon song works for you - lines are open and ur ready to Rock . . . (the songs downloaded on the dummy profile apply across all your profiles on the PS3, so dont worry - they will be there to use on your normal profile)

4. Then (thanks Wutang01 for sorting this out) you can use a virtual credit card company such as EntroPay.com (they charge fees of around 5% but its worth it) - basically you sign up and provide them with financial details such as an OZ CC, then they provide you a 'virtual' CC with a security number that works fine on the US PSN - be careful tho - some prepaid CC's arent recognised by PSN - but EntroPay does work fine (you simply use the name of Entropay, the CC number and security number they supply in the transaction management section of the 'dummy' profile to load money into a US based 'wallet on the PSN)

5. US wallet has USD in it - download whichever songs you like up t

6. Repeat process if you run out of money and want more DLC (with EntroPay, you simply load more money onto the virtual CC from your real OZ CC).

Its a bit daunting at first, but works fine and the DLC REALLY makes the game the best EVA . . . .

BTW - in answer to your original questions:

No - you cant use an AUS CC on the US PSN - the security protocols simply dont let it happen ("invalid address")

On RB - it will say "PURCHASED" on all the songs in the MUSIC STORE if you log on with an OZ based profile - doesnt mean youve got the DLC songs already - means you cant get them that way . . . when you log on with the dummy US based profile youve created and go to the MUSIC STORE in RB you will see the prices of the songs - songs you have actually purchased THEN come up as PURCHASED in the US MUSIC STORE

Sounds a bit confusing . . . but it really isnt . . . set up the dummy profile as I've described above and it will all become clear to you.
