Big Ant Studios is proud to announce that they are to develop Australian Rules Football for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Following up on the recent announcement that Big Ant Studios are expanding into Queensland, comes the exciting news that they are to produce a fully licensed AFL video game.

So Blue Ant are taking over from IR Gurus (thankgod for that). Lets see what BA can do.

So what do we know about it:

Release Date: Early 2010
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC
Mutiplayer: 4 player offline, 2 player online
Pre-Production: July 2008
No Publisher named at this point in time.

They have already started on it.

But Rugby is not "footy". "Footy" is AFL, because AFL is football. Rugby is Rugby.

yeah but Rugby came from football which is played in a football field thats why in the last 200 years ppl nickname it football while a AFL derived from different ball sports from different cultures especially from Rugby n Soccer played in a cricket field.
But Im into Rugby Union more than League. Im not into AFL because its not widely known international sport. Im not say AFL is crap its just my opinion why i dont follow AFL.
BTW I have never kicked or held a AFL football (Sherrin) but I like to sum day.

@byrnezy Just like in america they where crap at playing rugby while playing wit the british so they made american football to beat the brits thats why americans like it because they invented it n good at it similar story in 19th century Melbourne with when making their own style of football thats why they like it. So Im just sticking to calling it Victorian rugby/football/soccer or just plain AFL.

Most NRL fans just don't like AFL fans, companies n advertisements always rubbing our faces in with AFL propaganda since 1980's AFL invasion the north eastern states. Im not saying AFL is crap or the fans should embrace Rugby Union n League but respect ppls opinions n likes/dislikes. Just like in america they have southern states which like NASCAR more while in the northern states they like Ice hockey more than the southerners but both like NFL equally. Australia is similar the southern part of australia like AFL while the north like NRL but all australians like cricket.
