Was just wondering what(if any) differences there ae between the 80gig Ps3 & the new Ps3 Slim.
I am just trying to work out which model to get.
Can you upgrade the HDD in the slim? Card readers SD etc??
Any help on this subject would be much appreciated

I forgot we had a discussion about the Slim here.

Yeah so I got one myself now due to the Phat getting YLOD (RIP). No problems with it so far and it's more sexy than I thought minus the gloss shine.

Oh and thanks to the R2 data corruption drama, I have backed up most of my game save data. I now have double the HDD of what I used to have!

I will be getting the slim ps3 soon...can i remove my current HDD on my PS3 and put into the slim..I know its won't work..once you put in...its need to format..argh...

Back up your saved data (best if you use a USB) and then connect it onto the Slim. Only thing you'll have to add again is the game data install on the Slim's HDD. Long process but well worth the wait instead of starting your games all over again.

Oh and I've taken the liberty of adding the Slim to the accessories list already.

I swapped my phat for a new slim but have not had TV for the last couple of weeks so the PS3 is sitting in a box in the cupboard. So freekin frustrating.

Yes, in the last 2 months or so...it has frozen almost 100 times.

Not the PS3 Slims fault...

I BLAME the 3.01 update!!!

And, yes 60GB models are welcome as trades.

Are those freezes leading to bad things? Or just ordinary freezes that make you restart the console. I'll try to get my dad to get rid of the 60GB and get a slim because the warranty for the 60GB is ending soon and if it breaks again then yeah...
Is more value given to the 60GB's? will you get over 500 from eBay for one?

They are all fatal errors. Meaning, I have to hold down the power button for 10 seconds or so to shut it down...and then it beeps a few times on shutdown. Takes ages ,mate. Stupid 3.01 !!!

Games work straight away but movies spin and then make an eject noise.

The movies work on my Phat..

I haven't played a blu-ray in ages. I should really watch Quantom of Solace.

I actually need to clean my slim, the fan seems to work overtime in 30 degree weather. The vents are almost full of dust/lint stuff.

Anyone know the best way to clean it?

EDiT: I just put my QoS blu-ray in and it loaded within 2 seconds from the XMB. I clicked and the movie is playing fine.

my blu-ray movie work fine in my Ps3 slim 120gb
