It seems that live long play ad campain a while back (which was amazing) may have been teasing something more than we thought, a crossover brawler featuring characters from various first party Sony franchises, God of War, PaRappa the Rapper, Sly Raccoon, Twisted Metal, Uncharted and alot more.

It's basically rumored at the moment, but Neogaf have found a tonne of things leading to its existence which you can view here:

I dunno about you guys, but I'm all for a Sony brawler! It could turn out brilliantly! Hopefully it gets an official reveal soon. Any characters on your guys wishlists?

Crash is the pretty obvious one. Probably Spyro as well.

I don't think they'll even bother with Crash tbh. I think that character is dead and buried as a Sony character and mascot.

I can't recall seeing Crash once this gen maybe this will be a bring back type of thing as most people will know who he is regardless.

Probably this. They're going for a balanced and roster of characters that fit into the game, I think Crash could have a balanced moveset, and please just about everyone if he was added.

Unless you were born this generation, practically everyone knows who he is and recognizes him as a gaming icon, so they don't have much reason not to. The only problem they might have is grabbing the rights off of him from Activision, but considering they haven't touched the character in awhile I don't think he'd be that difficult to grab.

I just really really hope they go with the old Crash model, it would strengthen the nostalgia that much more for me, and a whole lot of other gamers. None of this tribal tattooed Crash crap :P

See how important the roster is, and how much it convinces people to go out and buy the game? This is one of the reasons they need Crash in.

I haven't played ICO, but isn't Yorda a damsel in distress that follows the protoganist? (and doesn't do much) I might be wrong, but if that's the case I don't think she'd translate well into a fighting game. I'd rather SoTC representation.

Crash will also be a really good character with his moves, and quite different to Sony's current first parties.

That's important. Some of the best characters in SSMB and SSBB weren't necessarily really popular in their own games at the time.

Yeah, Marth and Roy weren't really even existent outside of Japan back when Melee came out, and now they have a good following in the Western world thanks to Smash Bros. (which actually may have convinced them to localize the remake of the original FE with Marth on DS)

Parapa falls into being one of those type of characters. Not alot of people know about him (outside of PS1 era gamers, and a couple of people that played the PS2 sequel/PSP remake) in comparison to alot of other first party characters Sony have.

Then you need to win 752 matches online to get to challenge me. I will be on max difficulty with five lives, you will have one life.
If you lose you have to win another 752 matches to try again.
