It has been officially announced and is expected to be released late 2012 or 1st Q 2013

I been playing borderlands again because of this announcement. Trying to think where they should improve, so where do you think they should improve?

Hmm, hearing that his special ability is to throw out a decoy, it doesn't sound so lucrative anymore.

Having said that, I usually forgot to use my powers anyway in the first BL, so it'll probably be a non-issue. For me anyhow.

That, plus his blade isn't modifiable. In terms of stats at least.

Hmmm I don't like the idea of his blade not being modifiable. That's poo.

I guess I'll get around to using him at some point but perhaps I'll re think my first choice now.

I dunno how anyone can not want longshot turret, that'd be handy as hell. Although I will miss the regen boost from standing near turrets, good way to get ammo back before you find a good class mod.

First character for me will probably be Axton the commando. The soldier was the first character I used in the original and I thought the turret was pretty handy.

I'm thinking I might just go with the Siren now as my first character.

I played as Lilith during my first play through with Borderlands and I enjoyed it. If anything I think she made the game too easy at times.

Hopefully this has changed in the B2 :P

Looking forward to this game, hope it has a decent ending this time. Even so I still played through the first one twice which is rare for me. Hmm I wonder if they'll do some sort of game save importing option in this game, keep some XP, weapons, back story or something along those linnes.

I liked the story of the last one, but it was hard to follow. After getting dropped off from the bus you are bombarded by side quests, it wasn't until the end of the game I remembered what we were going after.

Let's face it, its a loot-shooter, the quest could be to 'chase the dragon' and we'd still be content, so long as there is good pickups every so often. :P

Pretty much, a good loot drop makes up for anything :D

I would have to agree though on a better ending. Other than that though I was pretty happy/impressed with Borderlands ^_^

A few announcements during the Pax East convention.

A 5th class could be making its way to Borderlands 2. Called Mechromancer.

The Mechromancer is yet to be developed, and will be made available as post-launch DLC. This female character seems to be a mix of human and machine, and can control a large robot known as D374-TP (Deathtrap). The character will be made available for free to those that pre-order the game. There is no ETA or pricing available for the Mechromancer yet, but Randy Pitchford said he hopes to price it at a level "comparable to most DLC."

You can now also customize your own character.
New gear, costume pieces, and even custom heads can be acquired by completing missions and challenges, as well as ranking up. In addition, players of the original Borderlands will immediately be rewarded with an exclusive head and skin.

Also 2 special editions was announced. The Deluxe Vault Hunters Edition will include a Marcus Kincaid bobble head doll. The Ultimate Loot Chest Edition will include Borderlands loot chest replica and will include Marcus Kincaid bobble head doll as well. Both editions will also include additional items that will be revealed at a later time.

For those who have a Borderlands game save will get a free custom character skin and a unique head for each class that you can utilize to customize your new character in Borderlands 2.
