thats ok im going to use my external HDD for music/movies/pics but my PS3 HDD is going to be strictly PS stuff do u think 300Gb or 250Gb is OK

I don't care about trophics really. It's more about the unlocked chararters and endings

The price for a 500GB is about 175 (what I payed for mine from umart). No point scrimping somethin stupid to save maybe $10

Please hlep, I have a Western Digital 250 GB. I have my usb drive and I have the folder setup as shown in the post but my PS3 will not read the update data off of the usb drive.What am I doing wrong? I've been working on this for 3 days. Thanks in advance every one.

Thats strange. If you haven't tried this, reboot the ps3 while having the usb drive already in, should automatically detect the update.

Question time...

Backup and restore went smooth.

Now when I try to play my PSN games, I get an error... something about activation?
I went to the menu to activate, but it tells me my PS3 is already activated... any ideas?

I was thinking if this is also possible. I've got a 320gb installed and wants to put a bigger one, leaving the 320gb as a backup. How did you go with this one adrian? Anyone tried this? Everything's still working?

Guys just a word of caution!!!!

If you are planning to buy a WD My Passport to swap your PS3 HDD.....if they have the code B8B do not buy them! They don't let you use the HDD apart from using it as a sole USB HDD.....I just bought a 500GB HDD today only to find out that it won't work and I can't return it

why not just buy a normal internal hdd for a laptop? im sure it would be much cheaper to buy than a wd passports. I got my 320gb laptop hdd for $100 and a wd passports 320gb goes for about $150.

Btw since you cant return it entice, you looking to sell it? I may be interested if you sell it cheap, lol
