Ps3 to drop price this Christmas ?

Hey guys I'm curious in knowing if sony are planning a Price drop on Ps3's this holidays in order to sell more consoles, I've been on ebgames.com.au just now and Spotted this deal.

Looks pretty good despite the fact I wouldn't know what choose between little big planet or Resistance 2, well besides that I think it's a pretty good deal but I've noticed microsoft have pulled a nice price drop themselves.

So do you think the Ps3 will drop nicely after Christmas or should I just buy this bundle ?

And is the new 360 confirmed for next year because if not I think I might pick that one up.

first of all, game has a better 360 deal: you get either gears of war 2 or fable 2 instead of assassin's creed
and secondly, all retailers have that deal with the ps3. It's not something that eb came up with itself. It's from sony, which means other retailers will have the same deal, but at better value. e.g. kmart has it for $67?, and jb have it for $688 with a free hdmi cable thrown in.
And thirdly, there is no official release date for the slim 360, although it's rumoured for Q1 2009.

The price will not drop on the PS3 for quite some time. If they drop it any lower then they would not make any profit.

You may get better deals like 2 free games or something, but the PS3 will be $690 for quite a long time, we may not see a price drop until sometime late next year. It sucks I know

Maybe you could just buy a 360 and get a PS3 next year when "hopefully" the price drops? Oh by the way GAME have a better deal than that, I got a 60GB 360 with Kung Fu Panda + Lego Indiana Jones + Gears of War 2 for just $399.

And the new querty keyboard thing for the controller is advertised for released on 27th of november!

Sony keep saying no price drop on the PS3, but I think the xbox price drop may force their hand.

Personally, I'd hold off from buying a PS3.
Remember, Sony are never going to say their going to drop the price in coming months as they don't want to give people an incentive not to buy their console.

if they were goint to drop the price for Christmas they would have done it already. its way to late for them to start now. They will drop they price next year, at E3 i'd bet.

If this is the case, get a 360 now while they are dirt cheap then get a PS3 sometime next year when the price drop comes. Unless you want to play the exclusives on each console that is....

But most games go multi platform, so with a 360 or PS3 you would be more than fine.

It's not that honestly I prefer a Ps3 but then again I don't want to get a 360 so then I can get a Ps3 next year, Thats just burning money I should save.

Also another issue is the RROD I don't want to have that and send the console for repairs for around $40 postage.

Do Ebgames still do Laybuys ?

I'm not sure. You could search ebay for a 40gig console, I'm sure you could get one for $500 (though don't qoute me, I haven't checked in a while). I would say, if you prefer the ps3 then wait till you can get it. I'm not saying that the 360 is bad, because it isn't. It's just that personal preference does matter, and if you like the ps3 more then I think you will feel more happy with a ps3 than a 360.

360 RROD issues are pretty much over mate, I just bought a new 60GB 360, and it is just as quiet as the PS3 nearly, probably a little louder, but still close.

I noticed many changes to the 360 design to prevent RROD, and I have not heard of one 60GB 360 which gets RROD yet. Plus postage is free to send it off to Microsoft, they pay for it not you.

I think the one question you should be asking yourself is, do you have a FULL HD TV? 1080p or whatever it is. If not, then Blu Ray is essentially a waste and you are burning an extra $200 on a PS3 for nothing. Unless of course you want the great exclusives available on the PS3?

In the end, it really comes down to what exclusives you like on each console, because most games go multi platform. Also decide which controller you like better etc.

Just ask yourself all of those questions and you should find an answer.
