Hi guys, just found these, i remember seeing something about them in this years E3. Full surround 7.1 headphones with mic :)

they retail for $150 US, not bad with our current exchange rate. i also read that JB will be stocking these things soon too.

has anyone had any experiences with them?

I was, but I wanted to make sure I got what I wanted in the way of surround sound, wireless, voice mic. And full closed cans. An after a few months of research I decided on the astro's.
I started this thread with turtle beach in mind :) I keep using it to talk about headphones in general with inky mainly.

I don't think there is anything wron with the turtle beach products, but in my opinion they are middle of the range and I believe astro to be top :)

That's exactly right. I wanted the best, not mid to low range, so after talking with the guys in here I got off the turtle beaches and then looked elsewhere, trittons were recommended to me by W84NO1 but I then heard about Astros and bam after I had swallowed the price tag I loved them. My theory is if your going to buy something, buy something that is going to be the best and last the longest.

Well the Astro A40's (wireless) use the mixamp 5.8 which has wireless frequencies of 5.8 GHZ, so it will not be interfered by with any device in your house (most/all devices use 2.4GHZ), the astros are crystal clear with the sound they produce and produce up to 7.1 Dolby Digital sound with no static or loud hissing found in turtle beach headphones. The turtle beach x41's use 2.4ghz frequency and dont have the same distance range as the Astros. For now the prices are the same $249 - $249 (USD for astros though)

They are truley the best on the market, and yes Coffey is right the packaging is so detailed, Astro really care about everythig they offer to their consumers

Ive had my x41's for a couple months now i cant say i use them heaps but i havent had to replace the batterys yet.

Well I got my turtle beach X41's

They are not too bad but also not perfect..

I love the wireless *_* listening to music while being able to walk around my room with no cut-outs is awesome, I wouldnt want it any other way..

Sometimes thou & im not completely sure why yet, I get a pop sound, mostly when I first time them on, before I hear audio it'll pop for a second or 2 then work fine.

Playing ps3 games is perfect, music off the HDD are good.

Using PS media to stream to my ps3 & using the head phones causes problems, crackles & cut-outs but if I just copy the video to my ps3 HDD it plays fine :O

Listening to music now on laptop with them & its flawless, still got the pops while connecting but nothing more after connected.

The surround really does work :D

Also the bass is nice!!

It dont really vibrate your head but you feel slight vibration through the head phones & its a nice clear deep bass that makes these headphones sound so great, I hate too much & also hate no enough, these are perfect :)

Also yes they do make a buzzing sound if the volume is high & there is no audio, but its a speaker right up on your ear so I didnt expect anything less..

I've just done some searching and see you need to use the RCA cables for the P11s, do you need them for the x21s?

I don't want more wires just the one USB. :P

The playstation doesn't output Audio through USB only works as an input as a mic. All turtle beaches use RCA for the audio beside there wireless range. Neither the less they do give you a bit of length on the wires.

Yeah you need the RCA for the x21's too. I think you need it for any wired headset because the USB on the ps3 will not produce in game sounds. Only voice chat.
