Yeah I knew yesterday would be a slog & didn't think we'd get as close as we did, I still think we're missing 1-2 top line midfielders like your Kennedy who will be up there for the brownlow this year with 9 votes in the first 3 games for your boys.

Boak has been tagged out of the game the last 3 weeks same as Pearce down back we need a guy of Hartletts ability in the centre, Brad Ebert is the recruit of the year he's been fantastic & will be up there in our B&F count even though it's still early.

Still a lot of positives to show we aren't the same pushovers as we were last year at least we aren't copping 10 goal losses to Richmond & Brisbane :P

beginning to think jack watts isnt ever going to play decent consistent football. yes he is still young but hes still ducking his head big time in some (barely even) contests. the interchange infringement rule is an absolute joke, even when they are in our favour they P*** me off

Good to see you are happy with your team trying and accept defeat. Swans should of won by 10 goals plus but stopped.

You are missing some top midfielders. You dont have any midfielders they all sit back and wait for the ball to come to them.

Hopefully will be a good game today between Crows and Hawks.

@gamingguy Noones happy just being competitive but am glad we've improved & that I can watch a game knowing that we're a good chance of matching it with top 8 sides.

To say Swans should've won by 10 goals is silly, Hawthorn could've beat your team by 80+ points & they did take their foot off the gas.

The Crows are a chirpy lot who have they beaten? Did you see the Bulldogs get smashed by the team we beat the week before?

Yeah we had a bad game against a top 4 side yes we are not there yet. But did anyone expect us to beat Hawthorn umm No. Put up a better effort yes for sure. We didnt have to many good players so on one side there is a huge upside.

@Seanybruz to compare Ebert to Dangerfield on one game you are kidding arent you.

@Seanybruz Thing about footy is you are as only good as your last game That you beat the saints in round one means nothing in round 3.

Dangerfield hasn't really done much since coming onto the scene. He's got a bit of the 'highlights package' syndrome, where he might do one or two good things but little else. Doesn't accumulate enough of the ball.

And wow - Taylor Walker has so much potential, but today it seemed like he didn't want to be out there.

We have midfielders just lack one or two of Mitchell's quality.

Wingard, Hartlett, Ebert, Boak & Pittard will be pretty good in the future add in 1-2 genuine stars & youngsters that will develop like Newton & we'll be right.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks that way you picked out the 2 players who are overhyped & inconsistent, the media & fans seem to think they're the second coming of Modra & Ricciuto they won't be half as good as either of those greats.

@Gaminggirl it's not just the one game all 3 games this year Brad's been better, in fact if you're a stat person going on their careers Brad is just ahead in most areas especially tackles & marks B Ebert vs P Dangerfield career averages

This isn't me attacking Dangerfield because he's a good player, I just think you have better players than him that aren't rated as high, Rory Sloane for example is a better midfielder.

Guess we'll find out at the showdown in two weeks time :P

Sorry, badly worded sentence you have misunderstood me. I was saying the Swans are a 10 times better side with Kennedy in their side, as are Hawthorn, Cats, etc with those players in the side. Not 10 times better than Port.

Ebert has definitely gone from big question mark to big tick in the first 3 games this year. Don't think Dangerfield has found his calling yet... he will get better.

Sloane is the difference between the Port and Crows young midfielders, a real ball winner. Helps when Thompson takes the first tag every game, but Port will be a much better side when they find a player like Sloane.

Yeah I thought that my mistake @IAC they are alot better with him in their side, I really like Kennedy he's reinvigorated the Swans & he's tough as all hell.

Can't believe Hawthorn traded him & even moreso I can't believe Choco didn't take him in the Burgoyne trade when he was offered with pick #9 [Facepalm]

Boaks best is near A grade but he's been copping the hard tag & hasn't coped well with the extra muscle he's put on yet, if we had a genuine A grade mid & put Hartlett in the centre it would change the dynamic of our side.

I think Ports strength right now is its backline now it's full strength, Trengove is going to be an AA defender one day & that's not just because of bias.

The forward line will be good as well when Butcher develops.
