News in the West reckons Ross Lyon will dump at least 15 players at the end of this season.

That'd be pretty epic. I'd almost say they are at the point where they'd need to rebuild, because their 3 best players are almost in retirement (Sandi, Pav and McPharlin), they have no forwardline, they have the leagues 2nd worst midfield (look at the stats, only Melbourne is worse). They have a solid backline, but without McPharlin and McPhee (and Silvagni will leave) in the next few years it won't be that great.

Could be some dark times ahead for Freo, even if they will probably make finals this year.

Geelong can not offer the ablett pick, you have to announce at the start of the year that they wanted to use that pick and they didn't.

It is looking more and more that Boak is going He is overated so if he goes to Geelong he would be getting a pay cut So i agree with Kangle4 its more about family and friends.

Lol Im sure he will sign he is the only one left to sign.

They will probably give him shares in Toyota and he will get paid well and once we sign him its another match winner to add to the other 3-4 signed this year :D

Yeah I think he'll stay if they can pay him alright, why wouldn't he stay & furthermore why would he want to go to Brisbane or the Suns?

You just gotta hope he isn't as money hungry as he was when he used GCS to bump up his price because Sloane, Walker, Dangerfield would've taken a big chunk of the cap.

The first rounder would be too late but I see why you'd be keen to swap Stanton as he's an easy tag target being a softish outside player, if you got Boak it would be like having a 2nd Watson.

Despite Gaminggirl constantly calling him overrated he'd walk into the Crows best 22 & be their 2nd best midfielder (right now) behind Dangerfield but just ahead of Thompson for long term potential.

The only downside is Stants is 2 years older & can't handle a tag as good as Travis, so if it came to a choice I'd rather keep Boak I still think there's a chance of him staying.

Boak is not in the same league as Thompson, Dangerfield or sloan. All 3 of those are match winners where Boak is not a match winner. He would deffently slot into our midfield but would not start in the centre group he would get a run through.

Boak not a match winner are you tripping balls? Just ask Melbourne, Richmond, Essendon & numerous other sides (who are dying to get him) if he's not a match winner despite leading a pretty average midfield.

A fully fit Boak right now is a better player than Sloane (didn't say long term) & seeing as Thompson has hit his peak could be better than him on potential as Thommo was a late bloomer & his disposal is hit & miss.

I didn't say there was much between them but you're underrating Travis, he polled 16 votes & came top 10 in the brownlow just 2 years ago.

Sloane benefits from being the 3rd best midfielder behind two all Australians & he runs around without an opponent doing what he likes see how he'd go if he got tagged every week.

Sloane was a massive steal in that draft (like Robbie Gray in 06) & I admit if I had the choice to pinch a Crows player it would be Dangerfield or him.

Broadbent has shown signs of developing into a gun but I wish the club picked up Rory instead of Mitch Banner, massive facepalm to our recruiters there because Sloane's a jet [Facepalm]

I don't think anyone really knows how good Boak is going to be yet. He plays in an ordinary team without many top players, they haven't won many games and aren't going to play finals any time soon.

If he stays he will probably be Ports best mid but not have much success, if he goes he will most likely play in a better team but will he prove to be as good as everyone says he can be. He's not an absolutely dominant player at Port now so how could he be at a team such as Geelong.

False he hasn't put talks off because we're talking with him after the bye, 90% of the media outlets are recirculating the same garbage.

It's just like when Caro thought he was definitely gone last contract time only in this instance Denham is a loser who wouldn't know one thing about the Port club.

Don't understand why players choose to go home for 'family reasons'? And dislike how this gives the media ammunition to spread crap. In every other sport players go where they can, they go to the best clubs and for the biggest opportunities. Their careers only last a decade, why are they so eager to spend it at mummy's place?

Caddy is the only one with a decent case, with his old man being sick.

how true and its not only sport people anyone can get a job even overseas and they deal with it

Yes but in football as little boys or girls you grew up wanting to be certain superstar and follow in his footsteps and play for the club you grew up going for. If you grey up in melb and followed the cats you wanted to play for the cats and with the new system its easier for players to go home.

But one thing he does have to the end of the year to sign. More players stay than actually leave but this one aint looking to good.

He was a Carlton supporter lol, Geelong are only being linked because he's from Torquay & he's BFF's with Selwood.

Not that it would happen but what would you think if we got Gibbs in a trade for Boak? Crows fans rate him heaps high because he should've gone there under the F/S & still want him at their club.

He used to be good as a mid now he's a seagull quarterback & he hasn't played to his standard in over a year.
