And as for going to a pub and saying you go for a victorian team you must of lived in a dodge area if you thought you were going to get bashed

Thats because Sydney likes to deny that the Swans exist. Its all NRL news and sometimes Union news when i visit Sydney.

Melbourne gives pretty good coverage to most teams but thats mainly because AFL is the main sport and everyone is always interested how the rest of the teams are travelling.

Yeah, exactly. Of course they're going to provide content on what the locals support - otherwise they wouldn't get as many viewers.

Some teams are going to get shafted by the byes (West Coast not having a bye anywhere near the finals) and some are being given some fortune (Essedon having a break one week before the finals).

I haven't minded the byes overall as much as I thought I would, but I definitely think the usual split round is better. Every team gets the same break so no team is getting unfairly treated.

The ways in which the Sydney media continuously beat down on AFL is pathetic. Storm and Rebels get so much friggin' support from the media and public down here. We absolutely love seeing those teams do well.

I remember a recent(ish) game against Richmond where they were something like 40 points up at the start of the 3rd, and it ended up being a draw.

Everyone must've felt so damn empty after that result... well I know I was.

Freo was up by 55 against Melbourne at half-time in 2008. Melbourne came back and won. Was at that game. Great feeling. Plenty of YouTube videos on it. Bit of light in an otherwise horrid year.
