After their big comeback later in the year, I think the Saints are most likely of the teams in the 8 to miss out.

If North can get over them this week, they have the Blues in the final round. With North v Richmond and Essendon only having to beat Port and Sydney having to beat Brisbane. You'd say Sydney and Essendon are safe, with it all coming down to Saints v North = Big game.

From the AFL site I was using the ladder predicter and I had the Saints missing the 8 too, I think North can get over them next week.

Its going to be a really good match.

Adelaide and North Melbourne. Chances are we'll lose both but I think we can at least put up a fight.

Looking at the fixture, there is a strong chance Fremantle will finish in 13th. Melbourne have GC and Port. Bulldogs will beat Freo in the final round. Richmond have Crows and Roos.

I'd love it if Freo finish in 13th after spending 20 rounds in the top 8.

Won't leave Port without some serious compensation, in a couple of years he is going to be the best forward in the comp. Wouldn't be surprised if Port asked for a good player (not sure who is out of contract, prob someone like Robinson/Armfield) and some draft picks.

I hate to say it, but Butcher would really straighten you guys up in that forward. Yes I know 4 players over 40 goals is amazing, but you still need that big forward. In big games your little guys just go missing.

Still need to work on that defense though!

Maybe hampson or setanta and a 2nd or 3rd draft pick.

Hampson has become a good player this year, finally can hold marks without the ball slipping through his hands 80% of the time. I would love to keep him but with kruezer and warnock taking up the ruck positions and waite down forward, hampson might find it hard to get a game.

Port aren't going to trade Butcher. His name is only thrown around because he's Victorian and out of contract. However, he's actually from country Vic and has no desire to move to Melbourne as it doesn't help him see his family more than living in Adelaide.

Considering we have so little players worth money and you have to pay 100% of the cap next year, the only place he might be able to get more money than Port is GWS, but even then we could possibly match it. Nobody else deserves it.

Yeah I think he will stay but there is the possibility he will move. I mean who would want to play for port adelaide at the moment when there are more successful clubs. If he is loyal to his club he will stay otherwise he may be one that got away.

Butcher was a top 2 draft pick before getting injured and slided because of that.

Both the players you named are list cloggers and should never even get a game for you guys.

While your at it offer up a late 1st round pick for hurley? or is that too much?
