I jog every morning, the only thing i lift is my sun glasses and house keys.

I learnt most of this gym stuff at school last year...I had to do weights training for a term....of course i didn't really do anything...
I don't really know how people can run...one of my best friends is a serious runner and I don't know how she can do it-running long distances kills me
But back to the point of the gym thread-here's what I learnt in PE-
Bigger weight but less reps=bigger muscle
Lighter weights but more reps=mopre definintion
That's why I've started doing light weights, but at least 100 everyday, coz i already gots da muscles, but i wanna be able to have the definition to show them off without having to tense!
PS-it looks like you took that picture in the change room skua-lets hope you didn't take any other pics
i do heavy weights with not so big reps. i try to aim at 8 to 10 per set
what do protein shakes/supplements actually do to your body??? i see a ****load at work so many brands....

Go look up protein... Helps for growth and development.
they all do different things. there are fat loss , body slimming, bulk protein, whey isolate. very different stuff. i used to have bulk proteing but it ran out.

topher, whats the best brand for protein i need to buy some more horleys, maxxes? not musashi lol

I don't use protein shakes.

I just do Sports Sustegine.
LOL. i remember when i used to dring up and go protein.. its crap.

i want to buy a 5 kg bucket but they are expensive!

lol. well thats just some different products. there are much more. they come in tablets and powder. you will find more body builders use the things like nitrix and stuff
yeah i was wondering also cause i see too much of a variety of these brands at work and what they do to your body...i should be working and not reading them lol

I use some pretty generic branded stuff and I still get gains. IMO there's not a great deal more to gain by spending the extra dollars on top brand stuff. Also buy bulk, like 5kg tubs so 1, you save money 2, there's so much there don't want to waste it and keep training.
10KG Dumbells is becoming easier for me for the Bicep Curls... Maybe I should upgrade to 12KG?

I'm lucky the owner of my gym keeps looking for cheaper products for him members plus he lets me chuck everything on a tab
what gym do you belong to? im at fitness first.

Motivation. the most important part of working out. you cant go into the gym without it. if you dont have motivation, then what are you doing? for those who get bored at the gym, find something, a goal, or something you want to acheive, and keep trying untill you suceed . when i started at the gym i couldnt do 1 chinup. now i can. i find more things easier. i do heavier weights. i dont decrease weights.
When im buff, fast and fit.. thats when i've completed my goal.

But everyday brings a new journey allowing you to do more and more.

Yep keep going forward with your training, even if you increase your weights by half a kilo that last time that's still good.

@Suka I go to a local gym called Green House Training Studio a smallish sized gym but has everything I need and the people there are great, no heroes.
thats good mate. the main thing is your motivated to go. i like fitness first though , probably will renew my rego this year
