hey guys, this is a thread for all the people here at myps3 that work out. post up pics of your mucscles or anything!
Is it better for you to be taking protein shakes even on days you dont work out?
I have 2-3 a day regardless of training

They banned DMAA due to it acting on the brain and CNS the same way that speed does. Essentially, DMAA was a low grade version of speed. The new child on the market, and I'm pretty sure that I have talked about this before, is PEA 500, or chemical name "phenylethylamine." This is the chemical in chocolate that changes peoples mood once they eat it.

As for protein powders, I KNOW I have discussed this before as well. 1.6 grams MAX per KILO of body weight per day is all even ELITE athletes need. It's super easy to get your daily protein requirements from everyday foods. Protein powders are just a way for companies to make money. If you don't take protein powders, you will STILL put on muscle, this is all thanks to testosterone. Your body will stop growing when you have reached your genetic potential. No amount of protein can change your genetics. ALso, protein powders destroy your kidneys over time.
i have used protein powders as a way of not eating junk food
I use them to make me feel full, between 4 - 6 a day
i have gone from 86kg to 78kg and i nearly have a 6 pack
i love them and don't really care about what harm they might do long term, i am 37 and would feel lucky to make 60, so as i see it i am way past half way, drink up

I'll continue to take my protein 2 - 3 times a day, I struggle to find time for breakfast, pre workout and casein in the evening as i don't really wanna wake up in the middle of the night to eat. Everyone has a different goal and different view, if ya feel ya need more then take more if not then don't, everyone is different, :)

I only got it about a week ago and I started having one an hour before my workout and after my workout.
So I was just wondering if I should have some even on days im not working out, Im pretty busy so yeah lol Work is the main thing that gets in the way to go to the gym.

Ill start having some when im hungry at night or something lol [MOG]

I got the Musashi one btw, I just mix it with water and it tastes great, chocolate flavour [Derp]
Sunday arvo seems to be a very nice time to go to the gym, bugger all people have been there past few times I've been at that time. The hard part is getting out of the lazy Sunday funk I seem to get into, guess many others have the same issue.

Chest, legs, tris & core tomorrow. Pumped as.

Feeling pretty tender from the last couple days, but that's definitely a good thing.

That's cos all the muscle heads and fully sick guys are hammered from trying to pick up chicks at clubs the night before.

I agree. Sunday (morning) is my favorite time to go :)

Sunday is rest day for me....(too much picking up chicks haha) Usually sleep most of the day
Guys, I know you should rest all muscle groups after a good exercise session, but does the same go with the core?

I do a lot of situps (I think it's a lot, I'm sure some of you do more). I've been trying to pump out 100 in the morning and 100 before bed at night using my decline situp bench.

Is it possible to overdo / over train the core muscle groups?

Yes.

You won't see much - if any - progress if you consistently work on your core and give it no rest. It's a muscle - just like your tris and bis - so it needs rest to recover - minimum 24-48 hours. ;)

I know some naive people who work their core 5-6 times a week for an hour a day, and they whinge when they feel like they're getting no where and seeing no results.

Be patient, the core and abs are the hardest things to perfect; and to get looking smexy, take the longest time (unfortunately :P)

..however there are some body building chicks that are scary strong :*O
Abs are like every other muscle give em a days rest, then hit em hard again.. just remember tho Abs are made in the Kitchen ;)

I've heard this quote so many times and it always stumps me.
If your diet isn't spot on it's gonna be crazy hard to get the really defined six pack look.
70% diet
30% gym
110% commitment

Does anyone know much about cutting? I'm just starting to read up on it now.

How much weight (kgs) do you lose roughly from bulking to cutting phase? I was reading 4-7kgs....
Really just depends on your body..
Been a busy day and I've been pretty sick with low energy all week. Today I was starting to feel better so I willed myself to go to the gym and make a decent effort. I was pretty happy with today's workout considering and it always feels better when you sweat that last bit of sickness out of your system
As a bonus they purchased a new set of dumbbells that range from 10kg up I think 40kg or more...can't remember. The thing I really liked was the 1KG increments between each set instead of the usual 2.45KG jumps.
They are selling off the old weights at 80 cents a kilo, is that a good price?

Hard to tell since there's a few sets of weights there now but from memory all the old sets that were there went all the way up to 55kg dumbbells.
I HATE uni.
80 a kilo is pretty damn cheap
