Howdy People just wondering if there are any big kids out there like me that collect Hotwheels or Matchbox Cars?

I have 694 Hotwheels cars and counting I was big on collecting a few years ago and have one of every car from the 2009, 2010 sets, but since then I have slowed down.

Ill post some pics soon of my collection.

jesus thats a lot. Been quite a few years since i've obtained one

there are more but they are in other drawers and bit wrecked thanks to child innocence with smashing them around :(

these were the last ones i ever got and best conditioned ones too :P

Oh man those nascar ones are the best i used to have a few nascars with the transporter. My fav was the number 5 kellogs one.

I know what you mean about them getting beat up I had heaps growing up and they were a bit worse for wear.

But had to get rid of them all when I moved from Vic to QLD about 8 years ago.

I had the colour change, the ones that smashed up, and the ones that had their back tires come down which lifted the body up. Plus they were made of metal Hotwheels - Matchbox Cars

I had heaps. Most of them were destroyed (from the speed tracks/throwing them at my brother) or left behind when I moved :( I've only got 1 collectors edition Charger. And it's not even in its box. I'll pic it later today

@gargoyles yer man I'm pretty sure I had a couple of those, cant remember exactly but I know I had The Number 2.

@winga26 That is just awesome would be worth a fair bit to. You don't see much that old still in mint condition.

@capt_oats I have a similar problem with my matchbox cars. There all packaged away from my last move in a box but not sure which one.

Here I was thinking I was the only one with them. :P

I'm pretty sure threw out my Sydney Olympics car, which I think was a Hotwheels.
Though I've still got some kind of a convertible green Ferrari Hotwheels in a drawer somewhere.

I actually know someone who imports cases of Hotwheels. I buy my cars from them. I usually get the cars before the shops do.

But most some of the rarer cars are from earlier years and so hard to get now.

Also some of the newer rarer cars will be hard to find as people raid the cases before they even hit the shelves. Some people travel over 100kms to get these cars. Last year I seen XB falcons sell for over $40 when they were first released they have come down dramatically and Hotwheels re-released it for 2012.

This year I seen a (Super THunt) Ferrari 599X sell for over $50 but most of these types of cars you will never get to see in the shops as there is a massive market for rarer cars.

This year will see a $2 car go for some crazy prices ie. (Kitt, Mystery Machine, Angry Bird Cars, etc.)

Wow you're very lucky to be able to get cars before the shops do, for me it's just a crazy raid at the shops. :P

Do they do a decent price for you? Or similar to Ebay prices? Hook a brother up. ;)

Yeah over the years I've seen the Treasure hunt cars go to some crazy prices I'd love to find a few but as you said you'd be lucky to ever find one at the shops.

I have a fair few of Lancers that I was very pleased to find, I'll try to get some updated pictures.

I usually pay around $2.5 for a car but it saves me going to the all the shops looking for the cars I want. The rarer more wanted cars are different though, As I do pay a premium for them but usually nothing like what they sell on ebay for just varies from car to car. (ie I paid $5 for an XB last year when they were first released). But I have been buying cars from them for years so they are very good towards me.

The problem you might have though is postage as they literally like 8 mins from my house (north Brisbane). So it might not be worth it unless you buy a heap but if you want the contact details though.

Would be awesome to see pics of the lancers. (I really enjoy seeing other peoples collections :P)

Nar I don't have the VE but I have been tempted to get it a few times. It's not often you see an Australian casting so it's always good to have one. I might actually pick one up in the next few weeks.

I've been trying to find one for a while (dont want to pay ebay prices) I saw one at the V8 Supercars a few weeks back the guy wanted $20 for it. -_-
