Recommend me a phone!

So its now come the time where I need a new phone yet again.

Ebay has always been good but the lack of Australian warranties concern me which is why I'm leaning towards a second hand Iphone 4 on Ebay.

I was wondering what phones you guys own and if you can give me any recommendations. I'll be buying it outright as I do not like having contracts.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Gio. They are pretty good, You can buy them for about $150 or so.

The S2's are awesome from what i've heard. [MOG]

A 3.2 inch screen is probably too small.

The one thing I like about iPhones is that if they break down you can take them into Apple and literally get a replacement then and there. Most Android phones you have to send off for repairs which can take up to a month or longer.

Well for price, I'd say get a Samsung Galaxy S II. There are a few Samsung endorsed stores that do repairs so you'd be safe there.

Maybe you could even consider a Nokia N9 or a Nokia Lumia 800. Nokia are pretty good with their customer service stores and support too (from my experiences anyway). :)

Depends what area you're located in. When I had problems with my phone Samsung gave me a list of shops close to me.

What decently priced Android phones are available that have up to date hardware other than the Nexus S? I'm talking between $300-$500

...get a Sony Ericsson, I and the missus both have an Experia X10 each and they are brilliant android phones...the missus got hers for $200 brand new and I got mine for $50 over a year ago...

Those phones are probably a little old for me. I would like something that is pretty up to date in terms of Android software.

If I were to get a phone now, probably the sony xperia s or arc.

personally I think its overkill with some of the processors found under the hood of these phones. Quad core? unless it improves the battery by leaps and bounds, I wouldn't bother.

that one looks good too. Doesn't look like its out yet but looks like it will be very soon.

Much prefer the sony UI and the way the phone looks over the other android variations by other manufacturers.
