Hello all. I have noticed a few people asking various questions about EB and JB over the years. I'm sure you all have a question or two that you'd probably like answered, so maybe I can shed a little light?

I used to work for EB games and I am currently Employed at JB (as a games consultant). I am happy to answer your questions (if I am allowed to, that is), so if you'd like to know something, now is the time to ask.

id say its so all retailers have a fair playing field and no one gains advantage because they havent received stock.

for example movies have release dates in cinema but if one cinema started playing it early they would get more money than the others cos ppl would go there to see it

As of tomorrow, there are no current trade deals. The 3 for 1 might return, but the MW3 1 for 1 is being tested out right now (to a huge success I should add).

WHY THE F*** dont they have opening hours for their stores on the website??

every shop has it these days even the local bakeries and stuff. so stupid... [Rage] [Rage]

most of the stores operate based on the centre theyre in so it can vary buuuut i think its roughly 9am-5pm

yeah i get that its probably 9-5 except thursday late night shopping in sydney. but today i had to stay back and couldnt pick up my SR3 (and wont get a chance tomorrow either :'@) so i looked to see if they open til 5.30 and nothing on there [Rage]

parra westfields. i just checked the westfields site and it says shopping hours til 5.30 so it might have been open

@snix , I came in, and saw you, but wasnt sure it was you at the time, so i checked my phone for facebook and didn't have internet. So i didn't say hello in fear of looking like a douche haha.

i don't exactly understand the campaign though and how it could be financially succesful. They would affectively be paying 80 dollars (the value of MW3) for a game they couldn't sell for over 80. Am i misunderstanding the campaign? How would it be financially succesful? :S

i agree it is not financially successful as the games are worth less than MW3 but it is attracting alot of customers through the door to hopefully spend money on other products or be return games customers in the future

It's referred to as a "loss leader".

Sell at a loss and hopefully people will pick up something else too. That may be another item at time of purchase or they may pre order/buy their next game there.

Many businesses use this type of model to grab market share.

I doubt we'll see many games on the trade 1 deal. At least not as many as would run on the trade 3.
