E3 staying in LA through 2015

Just in-case anyone's interested, the dates and venue for next year's E3 have been confirmed as LA between June 11-13, 2013.

Normally it's announced at the end of this year's E3, but there was some conjecture about it moving because the LA convention centre is being renovated.

However, it's now been announced that it's staying in LA.

Because of the renovations, it'll be split up all across LA next year, and is locked in to be held there until at least 2015.

That means no E3 in Vegas. Yet.

So media will have to be shuttled to multiple venues? That sounds HORRIBLE! It's bad enough finding your way around in one building let alone two!

Yeah, well LA Live will hold a lot of it, and that's next door. I think the main part of the Convention Centre is still there. It's just the side that normally houses Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony will be knocked down (yes, they get their own hall because their booths are so much bigger than everyone else's).

Although, there was heaps of basketball there while I was there this year, so I guess they'll have to relocate that which might make some locals very angry.

Then I assume the smaller stuff will be pushed to other venues with shuttles.

Well most regions do have their own events. There are a few in Europe, TGS, and actually several others in America.

It's just us that have nothing :P

Game Masters is actually the best in the world for what it is: a celebration of the people who made gaming what it is today.

EB X is more like E3, in something that demonstrates upcoming games, except its consumer based, not industry.
