Black Ops: Prestige Mode are you going to bother?

I remember when I used to play the first Modern Warfare on PS3 I dumped heaps of time into attempting to get through all 10 prestige levels. I got to about level 7 before I realised how much time I wasted so this time round with Black Ops I think I'm not going to bother, the plan is to get the highest level and just sit there and enjoy the guns and perks. Who else is going to do the same?
To be totally honest I haven't looked into it much to see if you actually get anything from going though the prestige levels with Black Ops but unless it's something spectacular I'm not going to give it a second though.

+1, way more incentive than mw2. But essentially most of the stuff you get is bragging rights, except camo

And so it should be, takes time to get to 50, people who play much longer than that should not have an actual advantage for it. Guild Wars did that in MMO terms with looks being the only fruits of 1000 hours of farming compared to no farming, and it was fantastic. Is rather people whobgribd their ass off to only have cosmetic advantages, it should not be a requirement to remain competitive in that game.

Yeah but, worthy of having put in days upon days of gameplay? Those rewards seem pretty stock standard.

I personally want to achieve Prestige for the bragging rights, because whenever I enter into a match and someone has 10th Prestige level 32 or something, it's not intimidating, but it's something you strive for. I know how that sounds, but it's something so minimal that creates a sense of achievement, which is important in games. What you get for the Prestige is great, but I personally think it's all secondary behind the bragging rights you earn.

lol i can see that happening. Sometimes i just equalise kills and deaths in a game. I just have to get used to MP5k, I used to like it and was good with it when I first started it (for some retarded reason). Oh well, I'll just have to play a bit more conservatively.

Dude, how can you struggle with default guns? M16 is AWESOME.

Been having some great fun with that gun in the 5 or so games I've played since prestiging. Already level 14 I think O_O

I don't give a crap about KD I try for the objectives and remain mobile. Hate campers and CPLers in games like this. It's too crap to be played like anything but deathmatch :P

I usually get high on the scoreboard but my KD ain't pretty sometimes.

well contracts, and its a lot harder now to get weapons because you have to pay for them.

The money side of things isn't a big deal after u prestiged, hopefully after 50 levels u know which guns and perks worked for you so u don't really need to bother buying The stuff u won't use. Plus u can get to level 20 in a couple of hours or less if u do some of the contracts that get u xp. There is a relatively easy one that gives u 1200xp, all
U have to do is get 2 kills in one life with the handgun m1911. At level 40 it's not worth wasting ur time cause u earn alot more xp but at lower levels u only earn like 70xp a round
