Who here is keen on the remake of Doom 3, Doom 3 BFG Edition? www.joystiq.com/... says it was the ideal project to work on after wrapping up Rage (IMO they didn't "finish Rage...properly) then working on Doom 4. Also stating that there's a whole market of gamers out there that never played this game so when released on console it will give those gamers a chance to play the old PC classic.
Personally I'm going to give this one a chance since I never really played the original version when it was first released.

Doom 3 was good but if you think im buying it again especially after how crap Rage was like cmon. And oh yeah the lost levels that have been found.

Will be a huge pass by me.

Doom 3 isn't rage so unless you have a problem with iD then oh well. I guess you wont be bothering with any of their future titles.

I've completed the game but can't say I've considered revisiting it again though from what I've heard from this edition there's a few nice stuff going into it. It still doesn't change the ending for me though and personally I'm not that interested in doom 1, 2.

Though It'll be interesting if the modding community for the PC jump onto it but I guess that comes down to whether carmack and his team make it accessible enough.

I'm keen to get this....again. But at a later stage as I still have the original Xbox version of yester-year. I vividly remember how dark the game looked on a small crt tv, so dark I could see anything really. I was petrified to continue playing due to the amount of death I quickly tallied. The thought of getting massacred as soon as I restart at the spawn point just turned me off...or I just sucked at it so badly @_@

Did i ever say Rage was Doom umm No. Im just going on how they cut so many corners with Rage. Why not work on Doom 4 instead no lets rehash Doom 3 and try make some easy money.

Nor did I though I could have worded it better.
I found it somewhat 'funny' the way you worded it - Not buying it due to RAGE since you enjoyed the original Doom 3. So you hate what the company did with rage... Fair enough but it came off as a weak excuse since I can't see them screwing around with the formula too much with Doom 3.

I'm pretty sure they're working on Doom 4 and if they've got the resources and feel that bringing out doom 3 would be profitable then why not? Gives them more money to invest in future titles and doom 4. So in the meantime not all the resources are devoted to the big 4.

I don't think Rage was "crap" I enjoyed it right up until it felt like someone forgot to fish the game. It's only problem was that it was way too short, so much more could have been added to that game.
