The game takes place during the original series and follows the adventure of four of the series' main characters: Ratchet, Clank, Qwark and Doctor Nefarious. The game takes place when Dr. Nefarious, the game's main antagonist, has an evil plan that goes awry causing Ratchet and Clank, the series' main protagonists, to get tangled up along with Qwark and Nefarious, and caught in the snare of a mysterious machine. Now, the Galaxy's greatest heroes and villain are forced to work together and cooperate in order to escape from the machine.
