Activision marks 50 years of Bond with 007 Legends

The James Bond film series marks its 50th Anniversary this year, and to celebrate the occasion, Activision has announced 007 Legends.

007 Legends will feature a new storyline, based on missions from six classic Bond films and is being developed by Eurocom, who brought us the critically acclaimed Goldeneye 007 on Wii (and the less impressive HD port).

One of the six films included will be this year's Skyfall, but the other five are unknown.

"To honour 50 years of the world's top secret agent, 007 Legends offers a collection of his most famed moments in the smartest and most treacherous Bond game yet," said Activision Publishing's EVP David Oxford.

"Creating a videogame storyline that ties together six popular, yet very different, Bond movie narratives can be challenging, but together with EON Productions our developer Eurocom has pulled it off."

007 Legends will continue Mi6 Ops Missions, and also include four-player split-screen as well as online multiplayer.

Will be interesting to see how this pulls together. Still really want to get the 360 version of Goldeneye, I know its not the greatest but I just want it for some 4 player split screen fun

and you will play through all of them as daniel craig because they couldn't get likeness rights for any of the other bonds

see ideally this would 2 sean connery movies, the george lazenby one, two roger moore movies and a timothy dalton one and you would play as those bonds

but it will probably end up being that a majority of the missions will be brosnan movies and you'll be daniel craig

I don't mind who the model is for the Bond. Craig is definitely a better Bond than Brosnan imo.

But I would like to see more espionage, more suspenseful gameplay, rather than just an FPS shootfest.

I prefer Brosnan over Daniel Craig. Would be good if they did get the rights to likeness of the bonds from each movie

Likewise, having a storyline where your character randomly changes would also be retarded.

Also, it is FPS therefore you don't really see Bond that much (though I guess you may hear his voice).

I'm excited for this. Nightfire was awesome, I just hope they have a multiplayer level with a cable car in it. That was always my favourite level in Nightfire.
