EA has announced that Battlefield 3 has sold 8 million copies worldwide since it launched just over a month ago.

Five million of those were sold during its first week.

CFO Eric Brown made the announcement at the Baird Technology Conference in San Francisco, reports Game Informer.

EA also revealed that a total of 12 million copies have been shipped to retailers since launch.

That's awsome ea this is the cod killer you have claimed it to be. 8 million copies in a month wow (sarcasim) mw3 did nearly 10 million in its first day. All the bullshit that came from ea and a pitterful result like that. where's all your crap talk now ea

Without feeding the troll, I have to say that, yeah, EA's whole claim to being the MW3 killer was always hot air. Different market, different game. Someone that player 2+ days worth of COD isn't rushing out to play BF3 for just as long.

BF3 is awesome though. Can't deny that.
does this include Digital Distribution sales?

No, sales never include digital unless they specifically state that.
I think you could add on probably 2-3 million PC download sales to that figure.

If not 3-4.
I'm happy for the devs and stuff but I still hate EA
It's an awesome game. Plus the devs actually listen to the community.

BTW, sales don't mean shit.
8 millions seems pretty poor for such a high profile game.
