UK developer Stainless Games is hoping for a Kickstarter boost to their old Carmageddon franchise to get the series racing again in the form of Carmageddon: Reincarnation.
The indie developer has started up a Kickstarter fund to get financial backing for their long-delayed three-quel to Carmageddon and Carmageddon II: Carpocalpse Now, which were released in 1997 and 1998 on the PC. The Kickstarter website reveals there is already over 5000 backers for Carmageddon: Reincarnation; the aim is to raise $400,000 to get the project going successfully.
Platforms for the game haven't been established but Stainless's entry on the Kickstarter page suggests the more financial backing they get, the broader the range of gaming platforms they can release the title for. Carmageddon: Reincarnation is aiming for a February 2013 release.
What do you think about the revival of the Carmageddon franchise?
