Splinter Cell: Blacklist details are being kept at a minimum for the moment, but Ubisoft has revealed that co-operative play and the fan-requested Spies vs. Mercs mode is back.
"Co-op is back. It was a huge hit from Conviction and previous to that as well. It's all about giving you options," Community developer Zack Cooper said.
Spies vs. Mercs is the Splinter Cell series' trademark competitive mode that pits a team of stealth agents equipped with all manner of gadgets against a heavily-armed team of mercenaries and guns-for-hire.
"That's probably the number one fan requested mode, and it's about time, really. We've wanted to communicate this and we're so excited about saying that we've got it. We're not talking about the details."
Cooper believes Blacklist is going to be "the biggest, most ambitious Splinter Cell ever."
"And we're not just saying it, we mean it - it's there. And when we start communicating the finer points, the details, I know that people are just going to fall in love all over again."
