Dead Island is set to get a sequel, but it won't be called Dead World as previously speculated from developer Techland's trademark registration late last year.
Dead Island Riptide is presumably in production despite publisher Deep Silver debunking rumors of a follow-up a few weeks ago. So far there are minimal details on the game, but it's safe to assume it will have a similar island setting, or at least somewhere near the coast going by "Riptide", and plenty of co-operative zombie-killing action.
Yesterday, the official Dead Island Facebook page posted Riptide's promotional blurb: "Braaaaaiins! More braaaaaaaaaaiiiins! The next battle between life and death will be waged in Dead Island Riptide, currently in development for consoles and PC by Techland. An extensive reveal of the thrilling new perils that players can expect from this new entry to the Dead Island franchise is planned for later this summer."
"Stock up on zombie survival guides, water, ammunition, and watch this space!"
