We were excited about a Lost Planet spinoff from EX Troopers on the 3DS and the PS3, then we saw the trailer.....

Eh, similar concept just a different art style I guess, looks to be more story based as well rather than co-op play.

Pretty sure Lost planets takes place on a frozen tundra of a planet, with the same type of insect/bugs monsters you tend to as well as human opponents in the mix.

So can still be a spin-off of Lost planet imo

Yeah, it's different, and its focus looks to be different, but it still falls in-line with Lost Planet and its canon, don't see why it can't be a spin-off.

There's alot more crazy/worse spin-offs in the world that go out of their way to be extremely different to the original game, to the point where you probably wouldn't notice they were in same series anyway.
