New AFL Game for the 2009 Season

AFL Games do not have the best of reputations, perhaps due to the difficulty of conveying the great Aussie sport in the form of a videogame or developers just not having a clue how to go about it. While loyal fans of the sport purchased many of the past installments, the below par titles did not receive a 2008 edition. This is all set to change in 2009 with a new developer at the helm.

Big Ant Studios have announced that they will be developing an Australian Rules Football for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The fully licensed game is set for a 2009 release. More news to come shortly.

The market isn't that big for it compared to say a soccer or cricket game, anything that's international. So they'd probably end up closer to losing money if they had to make 2 different versions, this way it's a simple port to all 3 systems.

Lol true Nrl is getting less popular every year were afl getting more popular and besides Australia are the only country who really give a %$#^ about nrl and they lost the world cup lol.

PremierShip Coach is being developed by the guys over at BigFooty.

The full game doesn't come out until July and there's no demos or anything of it to see if you like it or not. They think around $50 for it.

NRL and AFL r crap, i want a Rugby Union game (the gentlemans sport) with online multiplayer playing international ppl. I don't want to play a sport game (NRL or AFL PS3 game ) mostly played by working class aussie yobbos
