PS3 outsells the 360 in UK by 2-to-1

Sony’s PlayStation 3 console is currently outselling the Xbox 360 by as much as 2-to-1 in the UK, as sales of the next-generation machine skyrocket following the release of the 40GB console and subsequent price cut for the 60GB model.

Total weekly PS3 sales for the week ended October 21 stood at 64,087, catching up to Nintendo’s Wii console, which sold 70,322 units sold.

Meanwhile, despite a spike in sales following the release of Halo 3 some weeks ago, Xbox 360 sales slumped to just 37,303, having been outsold by every system other than the aging Gameboy Advance.

Good news
1. Because i hope Blu-ray wins the next-gen format war (more PS3s sold will certainly help install-base)
2. I plan to get a PS3 eventually so it will be good to have a well-supported console (unlike the failed Gamecube - i do still love it!)
3. (i'm gunna get bagged i know) MORE (possible) Folding@Home users!!! Guys this project is really important & needs numbers - join MyPS3 AU team 60766!!!

I reckon my Wii will suffice for a while, while i put a couple of bob together!

This article was written for a playstation fanboy site, that kind of information is only credible when it comes from an INDEPENDENT site. Really come on guys i know some of you are desperate for good news but this is just silly.
If xbox360zone.com told me the 360 was selling the most units i wouldn't believe it until an unbiased site had confirmed it. This is just a case of reading what you want to read instead of the truth.

I'll happily eat my words if you can find a credible site thats reporting the "2 to 1" ratio.

This catch-up to the Wii is very temporary. Metroid Prime 3, Geometry Wars: Galaxies, Super Mario Sunshine and MoH: Heroes 2 (FPS, better controls than Metroid Prime 3, better than PC controls finally, 32 player online no friend codes) are all due out in November in the UK and Australia. Sales of the Wii will skyrocket and Nintendo will hit 14 million worldwide consoles sold by christmas.
