Rainbow Six: Patriots is still in development at Ubisoft Montreal, following concern about the game not appearing at this year's E3.
Ubisoft marketing and sales VP Tony Key elaborated on the status of the title and why it missed E3.
"Let’s just say that Rainbow 6 is still in active development but what we decided was that the best thing for the brand was to not bring it to the show right now,” said Key.
"We have a lot of other games that we want to focus people on and there will be more information on Rainbow coming."
Key was also asked about the possibility of the game shifting to next-gen, as Watch Dogs is assumed to. Key's response was, "This is the only generation that I know about, so I would assume yes."
Heavy Rain designer Jean-Sebastien Decant took over the creative director role on the game from previous director David Sears earlier this year.
Ubisoft have previously stated that Rainbow Six: Patriots will launch sometime next year.
