Sony has announced the "nasne," a home entertainment network hub that works with the PS3, Vita and other Sony devices.
The nasne includes a 500GB internal hard drive and a digital terrestrial and satellite broadcast tuner.
It can be used to record and stream live TV to any Sony device, including PS Vita, Sony tablets and Xperia. The 500GB hard drive can also host your movies, photos and music to stream across your home network.
The PS3 connects via LAN and can be used to record and watch live TV through an application called "torne". It can connect to up to four nasne units simultaneously, to record up to four different programmes at once.
With "torne for PS Vita", users will be able to record and watch live TV on their Sony handheld, and access everything stored on the nasne hub. The nasne will launch in Japan on July 19 for 16,980 yen (AUD $201). There has been no word on a release in other regions.
