Despite labelling the recently-released Resident Evil 6 a "failure", Capcom has still managed an increase its earnings for the nine-month period from April to December 2012.
Capcom cited a “big increase in sales from one year earlier because of new DLC associated with major titles and higher sales from primary software downloads," according to Siliconera.
Surprisingly, and completely out of left-field, Capcom also attributes its earnings increase to ... a Resident Evil 5 slot machine.
Capcom says the December launch of the Resident Evil 5-themed "pachislot" machine in Japan saw a record 35,000 units sold.
"It contributed to big increases in sales and earning,” the game publisher said.
