Dead Space 3 will incorporate micro-transactions for players to use in relation to the game's weapon crafting system, as reported by Eurogamer.
Crafting materials can be picked up in the game or scavenged by bots, but if the player chooses, they can purchase such resources through the in-game store. To prevent players from buying the best weapons and resources too early, there will be guards in place that will block their attempts.
Dead Space 3 associate producer Yara Khoury confirmed the feature and added that purchases with real world money aren't required in the game.
The Dead Space demo is available now on Xbox 360 and later today for PS3, following the PSN update. Dead Space 3 launches on February 5 in North America, February 7 in Australia, and February 8 in Europe.
