EB offering a trade-in deal for PS3 Super Slim

EB Games is offering various trade-in deals for the new Super Slim PlayStation 3, if you feel like offloading your 160GB PS3 Slim.

If you want the extra storage space, for $198 you can be rid of your 160GB PS3 Slim and get a new 500GB PS3 Super Slim with two new games. Those are Fifa 13 + Borderlands 2, or one of those with LittleBigPlanet or God of War 3.

If you're downgrading to a 12GB model, you only need to pay $98, but only get one free game: either Fifa 13 or Borderlands 2.

Without a trade, the 500GB deal is available for $398 and the 12GB bundle for $298.

Is anyone actually going to do that?

It's a strange one.. But if you a huge Sony fan I can see why you would.. It's like when I upgraded from a iPad to the new iPad.. I wanted a slimmer version.. Although I didn't trade my iPad I kept it :P

If you were going to buy Fifa and Borderlands 2 anyway (let's say both $70 at JB), you're basically paying $60 for the extra HDD space.

I get that, if you need it.

The 12GB one seems a bit foolish though.

You get a second controller as well.
This is actually a really good deal.

Edit: Wait, controller is only for the LBP and GoW packs, still a good deal.

I do kinda need the extra space... and I wonder if they'd swap fifa 13 with PES 13 :P

I wonder if the extra controllers are genuine?

The biggest reason to go with the newest model for me would be if the ps3 is even quieter during movie playback

Yep. If you were planning on getting those games this is actually a pretty good deal. I am planning on getting them so I'm considering this. It's just a shame it's top loading. That's putting me off. @_@
