Employees of THQ's corporate HQ and Vigil studio will finish working for the bankrupt publisher today. In a memo sent to all affected employees and obtained by IGN, THQ explains that employees will have most of their benefits terminated today and that severance package pay or pay for vacation day is yet to be determined.
The memo notes employees have until the end of the day to remove all personal items, that access to the building will be shut off today, and that the final round of payroll will occur.
The memo also explains that employees still have health insurance until January 31, but life insurance and short-term and long-term disability coverage will terminate today. All THQ stock is also now worthless.
THQ held an auction earlier this week to sell off most of their assets, with the publisher's intellectual property and some studios picked up by several other companies, while other IPs, most notably Darksiders, have yet to be picked up. Another auction is planned to handle the remaining properties.
