GTA V's release delay "positive" for GRID 2

Grand Theft Auto 5's unexpected delay is a "positive" thing for GRID 2, Codemasters has said in an interview with VideoGamer.com.

Codemasters' premier racing title was set to go head-to-head with Grand Theft Auto 5 this May, both releasing fairly close to each other, before the sandbox genre's star game was delayed until September.

"Yeah, in some ways for us I suppose it's positive," said GRID 2 producer, Vincent Muelle.

"GTA and GRID are two different types of game," he continued, "and if you look at GRID 1, it actually came out the same week as GTA IV and it did really well. So that's why we were not especially worried at the time that GTA was coming in the same month, due to the performance of GRID 1."

EB Games has listed GRID 2's release date in Australia for May 30, 2013. It will be released in the UK on May 31, and is launching on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

I guess its good if someone had to choose one game between the two titles due to money constraints. what other bigger titles coming out that month?

But their totally different games with only cars being the only similarities.

Good for Codemasters, sure. But it made me sad. GTA V looks like definite GOTY material.

It's good, but now i want gta V on PC relesead at the same time with the console release.
I know that is very unlikely but i still have hope :)

None other than Resident Evil: Revelations.Not sure if it can be considered a "big" release :P

So ahh...yeah. PS3 died right around the time I got a Wii U.

This is where backward compatability of a PS4 looks to me, a requirement.

Its not that hard to be into two games at once.

But i guess i can have more time in GRID2 before GTA steals my soul and causes me hijack a police car and crash in into a local primary school and randomly open fire on kids then beat teachers with giant pink dildos.. [MOG]
