Heavy Rain dev working on PS4 title

Quantic Dream boss Guillaume de Fondaumière has revealed the Heavy Rain studio is already hard at work on its first PlayStation 4 title, which is being developed alongside their work on Beyond: Two Souls, their next PS3-exclusive offering set for an October release.

Fondaumière told Eurogamer that their upcoming PS4 game will be "story- and character-driven" in "the Quantic Dream style", while adding that "Innovation is part of our DNA", with the company open and working on experimenting with new approaches.

"For us, a new console is another reason to try and innovate," he said. "What is certain is that whatever we're working on on PS4 is not going to resemble what we're doing on PS3... We're going to try and reinvent ourselves."

Fondaumiere also revealed that their work with the PS4 architecture is significantly easier than with the PS3.

"We'll be able to express ourselves in a more straightforward way. So it's perfect, it's excellent."

When asked about whether Beyond will possibly become a cross-platform title for PS Vita in the future, Fondaumière simply said: "It's for PlayStation 3. So far, yes."
