The Medal of Honor franchise has been discharged from active service, after the most recent instalment, 2012's Medal of Honor: Warfighter, received a poor critical and commercial reception.
EA COO Peter Moore told the publisher's investors that Medal of Honor has been pulled "out of the rotation" of regular games.
"We are taking Medal of Honor out of the rotation, and have a plan to bring year-over-year continuity to our shooter offerings," said Moore.
Moore admitted that Warfighter was an "obvious miss" but believed review scores were lower than the game deserved. The Xbox 360 version is currently sitting at 53 percent on review aggregating site Metacritic.
